The Town Board wants to fix the floor and foundation of the Town Hall before winter. We cut about 3000 board feet of larch from State land and Gene Hennard has donated beams and used lumber. The plan is to tear down the outside chimney and slowly jack up the Hall. While that is being jacked up, the floor needs to be taken up. (Hopefully we can save some of those historic floor boards.) Leveling and supports will then be done. The Town Supervisor would like an “Historic” work bee so the Hall can be used as much as it was in times past. If you can possible help us in any way, please call xxx-xxxx to volunteer. We will then be able to make arrangements with you as we proceed. Let’s get a meeting place open for the Town of Granger!
On July 15, 1996 the Town of Granger held a “communications” meeting concerning our junk ordinance, with about 30 taxpayers in attendance. The Board feels the present ordinance is too strict and too hard to understand. We are a small town, and do not need the enforcements that larger populous communities need. Some of our townspeople are not happy with the way our town is beginning to look. As a result, we are looking harder at our law. We could change to the State junk law, which we are supposed to enforce anyway, and then add our own trash law. We will probably have another informal meeting, or possibly go directly to a public hearing some time in the near future.
